Getting to your hotel
After passing through Customs, you will exit out to the receiving area. Here your travel representative will greet you if you are traveling on a package. It is here that you can also hire transportation to your hotel if you do not have a prior reservation. You may choose to hire a private van (which is much faster but more expensive), or you may travel in a “colectivo” (less expensive, but takes much longer to arrive at your hotel as you will stop at all the hotels of your traveling companions). If you have made arrangements prior to your arrival, it is here that you will be required to exchange your vouchers from your ticket package for local transportation vouchers. Please make sure that your luggage travels with you on the bus or minivan.

At your hotel
Upon arrival at your hotel, make sure you have all luggage, including carry on bags. All hotels require that you establish credit by presenting a major credit card and signing the blank voucher, or leaving a cash deposit. At checkout, you will need to check all room charges, so make sure to keep all receipts. The proper amount will then be charged to your credit card, or subtracted from your deposit.
