Over
the last few decades, the Mexican Caribbean has become the favorite

COSTA

BIODIVERSITY
Simply marvelous!! Toucans and
many other species of birds (over 80), deer, pheasant, wild cats and an
incredible variety of other mammals and reptiles along with varied ecosystems
such as virgen forest, mangrove, and coastal dune, make the COSTA MAYA one
of the most biodiverse areas in the world. Inland water systems including
lagoons, canals, and cenotes, abound.
REEF
Offshore, the Earth's second largest barrier
reef system parallels the coast. It is home to an incredible variety of
marine life, vertebrate, invertebrate, coral, and plants. This world-renowned
marvel is a mecca for recreational divers and scientists.
The
reef's major attractions are Chinchorro Banks (reef, over 120 shipwrecks),
the cayes of Belize (1 hour from Xcalak by boat) and the Blue Hole (2 hours
from Xcalak).

Kinichnah are a 15-minute flight from Xcalak.
